Week 23 reveals another food-color; Asparagus. The thought crossed my mind to track down an asparagus avatar, but I thought the likelihood of finding something like that was rather non-existant. So I went with a dress instead. And as always when I dress in green, the red hair is a given. There’s something about the combo that makes me happy in the pants.
I’ve felt for quite some time that I need to pick up and actually create something in Second Life again. So I was looking over my options. Tried clothes-making again, but it wasn’t as fun as it once had been. Sculpt-making makes me tear my hair out.
Then I tried poses and now I’m hooked. So I’ve started a small venture I call Posera. “Posera” is Swedish for “Posing”, which I thought was a nice name. I have some poses out at Albero Gacha Fest and the marketplace.
Looks all serious and stuff, right? Wrong.
When someone on plurk asked if Planking had come to SL yet, I had an idea. The next big thing. Owlplanking!
This is probably the dumbest thing I’ve ever created in Second Life, but it made me laugh so hard I thought I’d share. For 10L you get poseballs and individual poses for Owling and Planking. Have fun!
For Banana Mania I actually considered just sticking a banana in my mouth, making a crude joke and then be done with it. Yellow shades are not my favorite as I’ve stated before. However, at the last minute I actually found something that could be passed of as banana-colored. I don’t remember buying it, but it could possibly have been in preparation for this week. Possibly.
I discovered my Sister was hiding a whole platform full of pose-props from me… Bad Sis. But she made it up to me by allowing me free access to her stuff. Woho! Week 21 is White. Don’t miss out on the fantastic skin Glam Affair has at TDR this week. It’s pure pale awesome.
I’m a total cheater. It just so happened I thought these two colors went quite well together and they were back to back as week 19 and 20. Also, I’m lazy. If there’s a cornet to be cut, I’m there with the scissors. As usual you can clickety click for a larger version.
Yeah, I’m on a roll. I’ve been shooting color posts all week, so you’ll see a lot of it coming up… Trying to work on my shadow-handling a bit, so it just happened that way. Week 18 is Ecru.
I’m so behind on this challenge it’ll probably take me three years to finish rather than one. Ah well, as long as I’m having fun with it, right?
I picked up The Hunger Games trilogy a while ago and was instantly hooked. I have a special place in my heart for anything post-apocalyptic and the story about Katniss Everdeen sucked me in and made me power-read the whole thing.
I immediately thought that the story would make a great video-game as well as on-screen adaptation. I had hoped for a TV-series, but as it turns out the books will become a movie, release to be expected March of 2012. I’m guessing if we ever get to see a game based of these books, it’ll be around the same time.
However, I’m not known for my patience, so I spent a full day hunting down gear in SL that would transfrom Kissowa into Katniss.

I modeled my Katniss after a mix between the bookcover and what I saw in my mind when I read Suzanne Collins description of Katniss and the outfit she wore for the Hunger Games. It took a while to find the right things and I ended up having to make my own mockingjay pin, since I couldn’t find one even remotely similar anywhere on the grid. Just you wait though, soon enough I’m sure we’ll see whole Katniss (and Peeta) avatars.
Just as if she knew what I was up to, Codie announce on plurk that same day that she was working on a new project. She posted some images and I immediately thought of it as cornucopia from the book. Or at least that’s very close to how I imagined it. The project is called Rust and is a Fallout inspired RP’ish location for us post-apocalyptic fans. It’s not yet released to the public, but I’ll let you know as soon as it’s done. It’ll probably be my new hang-out. (Oh, who am I kidding, I’ll live there.)
I’ve been sitting most of the day with nothing to do, so I’ve entertained myself in photoshop. I rarely do heavy editing, mostly it’s crop and some color adjustments, but every now and then I get a feel for it and can sit with a picture for hours. It may not look heavily edited because there’s not many fancy effects, but it’s actually quite a bit of work. I made a .gif to show the difference, a before and after, if you will. I added on wisps of hair, eyelashes, removed a thumb and some odd mesh warps, stuff like that. Kept me busy for a while at least.
