7 Days of Truth – #4
Truth #4; I’m a compulsive Lister.
I have somewhere around 10-15 notebooks all filled with one thing. Lists. It all started a few years back when I was getting more and more frustrated about not remembering things. You know, old age and all. So I started to make lists. It started innocently with just the most important things and quickly spiraled in to listing… everything.
I have lists for blogposts, home-work, design ideas, alts, websites, stuff to buy (irl & sl), stuff to wish for… Well you get the idea. I have 2 notebooks by the bed and about 5 or 6 by the desk, all of which I use. It’s comes to a point where if I would lose one I’d probably go nutters. It’s also caused me to have a unhealthy habit of buying fancy notebooks all the time.
But hey, I rarely forget anything these days.

I hate lists, because I was taught to make “To-Do Lists” and I always procrastinate, so hardly anything would ever get checked off. At the end of the day, all the unchecked things would be mocking me and making me feel like major fail, so I just stopped making lists.
However! When I’m packing to go on a trip, I /always/ make a list of things to bring, because I’m paranoid about forgetting something important. That kind of list I like, because it helps me and because at the end of the day, it’s guaranteed that every single item gets checked off!
Hi again! I love lists! I don’t have notebooks full of them but I create lists for everything. I have very bad memory and I find that lists keep me on track. People always say that I am so organized. I owe that to my list making. I know that without my lists I would be walking around mostly, lost. Haha. I really would be lost.
@ Quaintly: I’m a big procrastinater too, but for me the lists help. And yes, the packing list is a must have. I used to travel a lot, and forgetting stuff half way around the world is NOT fun. *shudder*
@ Arianna: I’m not the least bit organized otherwise, but the lists does serve a memory function. I can literally think of a great idea this second and forget it the next. Very annoying!
It’s not the old age, it’s all the meds we’re on!
I’ve been keeping a notebook lately, I have weekly and daily lists, plus all my sales for the week lol
@Marja; Lol, I know it’s the meds, I was trying to be funny.
