And I’m not talking the blog-tag kind either. I’m talking about a new nuisance I’ve seen coming up in the SL fashion industry. The tags. Boldly hanging out from skirt and sweater, often in a screaming red color, there they are, the tags.
Unfortunately one of my favorite sweater is tagged and it’s making me a bit cringy when I see it. Now, I usually apply my RL experience to my SL and RL tells me that tags hanging out should be cut off immediately. In SL we don’t have that luxury and are forced to live with it.
In my country it’s even considered bad fashion etiquette to have tags or labels on your clothing (with the exception of jeans for some reason). If the logo is a part of the design (Louis Vitton and Yves Saint Laurent comes to mind) it’s perfectly fine, but a red tag hanging out? Not so much.
I don’t even see the reason for it. The tags are small and hardly readable, so it can’t be about exposure. The designers using this way of tagging is also highly recognizable in their design style already. I bet most of you can name the two designers these items came from without looking at said tag. Is it some odd form of copybot protection? I really don’t understand it and it’s starting to become one of my top Pet Peeve’s.

It’s tacky and in the case of most skirts, doesn’t even match! ugh
